From a strategic point of view, the HT16 RTJ launch strengthens Haulotte’s position on the North American market, through a demanding and growing segment. But this new machine is also expected to be distributed to all zones. It represents a great opportunity to win market shares in the telescopic platform segment, while the Group is best known for its articulated machines. “Japan has a growing interest in this product, as does Australia and Europe. We have points to score against competitors” says Rémi Heidelberger, Marketing Manager.
“From a collaborative point of view, this machine was a project that showed our ability to collaborate internationally, by launching a new machine suited to market demand,” explains Paul Jensen, Product Manager for the Americas.
“Launching this type of machine requires a big collaboration with customers, as well as numerous services within Haulotte. As we write this article, sales, product marketing and engineering are closely monitoring field tests with our customers, which provide information on how the final version of the machine will be received by the market. On the production side, procurement and instruction writing are in progress.” continues Paul Jensen.
With the HT16 RTJ, Haulotte reinforces its “added-value” brand identity and continues to spin off its latest technologies, particularly Activ’Screen, Activ’Lighting System and Activ’Shield Bar. These technical advances provide high precision of movement, increase productivity, and reduce maintenance costs.
The HT16 RTJ embodies a new generation of aerial work platforms, built on an innovative chassis. “Mechanical bridges increase the machine’s efficiency. We were able to install an engine smaller than the competition, with equal performance,” explains Julien Micheli, Product Manager. The engine is simpler and also easier to maintain. Its 18 kW power is proving to be decisive in Europe, because it removes the constraint of using a particulate filter. For Rémi Heidelberger, “rethinking the powertrain to achieve our goals, while ensuring the expected market performance was a challenge for technical teams ! ”
Another important characteristic: the HT16 RTJ is equipped with a double load of 350 kg, which gives it the best ratio on the market between the offset and the on-board weight. “For users it means fewer trips back and forth to the job site, and therefore better productivity. It perfectly meets the expectations of users, who want to take advantage of the telescopic machine offset while carrying a maximum of equipment” adds Julien Micheli.
