Running for a good cause

Haulotte employees once more stepping up for charity.

Over thirty people from several Haulotte sites took part in the 67th SaintéLyon, a race held at night linking the cities of Saint-Étienne and Lyon. Laurent Gammeri, Guillaume Desages, Nicolas Chaix and Joris Grumeau gathered a whole group of competitors to defend the Haulotte colors and most importantly, to highlight three associations supporting sick children.

During the night of 27 November, these big-hearted athletes took part in the SaintéLyon, either solo or in a relay team, tackling 13 km, 23 km, 46 km and even 78 km for the most motivated. They all braved the cold and took up the challenge with a single goal, to support the actions of three associations

made it to the end

  • CHUKIDS42: The purpose of this association is to provide moral and material support to hospitalized children at the Saint-Étienne University Hospital;
  • “Des cimes et des monts avec Siméon”: the association was created to help Siméon, a little boy suffering from spastic paraplegia. The donations received are used to pay for his therapy and equipment to help his autonomy;
  • Happy Pia & Cie: Pia is a little girl with multiple disabilities who was infected with cytomegalovirus before birth. The association works to contribute to the cost of the treatment and care needed for her development.

Our runners were valiant. Real champions!!

As our organizers stressed:  “This race is a great example of solidarity and commitment, and proof of the teams’ involvement. The funds raised will improve the daily lives of sick and hospitalized children. We are happy to be able to contribute to improving the children’s wellbeing.”

Didier Grivel, Empowerment manager, reminds us that “this action is one of the initiatives supported by employees since 2018”, a great example of Haulotte values.

Commitment is an integral part of Haulotte culture. Thanks to them, €1,295 was raised for the associations.

There is still time to prepare for the SaintéLyon 2022, so put on your trainers and come swell the ranks of big-hearted runners!
